Andy dug this out himself with the help/hindrance of our daughters about 25 yrs ago.

Over the years it's had many fish, usually gold fish and Koi and loads of tadpoles and frogs.

It's only had a full clean a couple of times as in dredged.

Last week it was so murky you couldn't see a thing so in Andy went, armed with wellies and gloves, shovels and wheelbarrows and a bath.

All the fish were caught and put in the bath over the weekend.

They weren't keen but it was the only option.

After the water was drained, there was a layer of sludge on the bottom, in fact 16 barrow loads of the smelly stuff.

It was scrapped and washed off ready for refill.

Sadly we lost a fish in the bath, it got caught in the filter.

As it was Fathers day, Andy was treated to a few new fish which with the others are in the pond now.

You have to let them float in the bags for a while before they are let go.

They seem happy enough, hope they like their new home.
