my friend popped in so we were having a cuppa and a chat together

I suddenly felt energetic so I got the paint out of the shed to touch up wear and tear losses on the wall in my living room and hallway. Then I found myself taking down the curtains all over the house. While they were washing, I bleach cleaned any window surrounds/ledges that had collected some black dots from condensation before re hanging the damp curtains to dry naturally without creases. It's my usual pre-Christmas thing to do but I'm very early this year with everything Christmassy. It's November for crissakes!!!

I had a phone call from my son to say he thinks Zucci(his poorly budgie) had escaped from its sick bay cage and would I go in to check where he is. He has web cams set up so he can view the birds on his phone while he's at work. Surely enough Zucci was outside the cage next to one of the slide up doors that was open by about 1/2 inch. I offered him a perch stick which he walked onto and I then put him back in his cage without probs. I also nicked four unused pegs off the cockatiels cage to secure the front and 2 side doors of Zuccis sick cage. OMG!! The great escapee haha. For me though, I'm hoping it's a good sign that he is on the mend as he was able to figure out and felt strong enough to actually lift the cage door to get out. Fingers crossed

I was batch cooking cottage pie which I'll portion into containers for freezing down

making a cheese and pickle sarnie for my eldest son, ready for when he arrived

replying to texts with my eldest daughter and also getting WhatsApp pics and updates from my friend who is currently holidaying in Canada 

rushing upstairs to close my bedroom window as the drizzle has become more blustery rain.....
