Myttyn Da Rockyland Fans, Nadelik Lowen,

Here we are less than 24 hours to go to the big day. I will spend the day preparing everything for tomorrow then it wont be to much work tomorrow then I can spend time with my friends instead of being in the kitchen all the time, I will speak to all my family naturally in the morning, this evening Santa will be touring the town as he does every Christmas Eve but the person who plays him doesnt know it is him till 30 minutes before it begins it will be on Facebook I think.

Myttyn Da Rockyland Fans, Nadelik Lowen,

It looks a bit lumpy out there this morning  and its warmer at 12 degrees.

Its Tom Bawcocks eve in Mousehole tonight, the story is that on the 23rd December the villgae people were starving as they had no food and a storm was raging so this man launched his boat and braved the storm and caught seven sorts of fish  and it was enough to feed the entire village.

Quite a few visitors have arrived for the Christmas Holiday not much good for me, the run up to Christmas is well on the way and if you go to Marazion Memories web site you can see loads of our lights or there is another one called Marazion Town Group.

  Myttyn Da Rockyland Fans,

Another grey start to the day and 10 degrees at least its dry.

It is with great regret that I have to post the passing of Cornwalls favourite son the comedian Jethro who contacted Covid, gone but never forgotten.

The final Council meeting was over by 9.15pm but I didnt get home till 11.30 as we had drinks and nibbles which were supplied by the Mayor and his good lady it was all very convivial to say the leastand I am sure enjoyed by all, the next meeting isnt till January 14th so a good break.

Myttyn Da Rockyland Fans,

Once again I stop the roar of Marazions Traffic to bring you the latest gossip, its the usual grey start to the day, fog was forecast but it hasnt happened.

I will write the last few local Christmas cards this morning then do my shift i Harrods, this evening is the last full council meeting of the year and the Mayor usually provides drinks and nibbles after the meeting in these uncertain times we will see if it happens. Lots of pone calls about the Christmas Quiz last night to see if it is going ahead, as far as I know it is but the organiser is having doubts about if it will go ahead.

The Mount lit up for Christmas.

We have our Christmas Quiz for the lights tomorrow evening but the landlords son has just come out of isolation from Covid so I will not be going its to risky, apart from that it is the final Council meeting of the year so I will be there.

 Myttyn Da Rockyland Fans,

Not a bad start to the day so no complaints so far, a bit more ironing to do soon then check my final Tesco order of the year

Mrs Greenwood-Penny who turned out lights on this year is a legend in Marazion for the past 75 years she and her family have provided the Christmas Tree for the town, various fund raising events are held but i think the bulk of money comes from her, so it was very fitting that she had the honour this year, below is a great picture of the event.

 Myttyn Da Rockyland Fans,

Looks to be a bit of the wet stuff about but its a bit warmer at 10 degrees.

The switch on was a great success with a good turn out probably about 80 people I guess, It was all done and dusted in about 10 minutes which was good,  a quick trip to town for me then the day is my own apart from a Tesco delivery tonight between 7 and 8pm.

Here is a collage of some of the lights.

 Myttyn Da Rockyland Fans,

Here we are Friday 10th December tonight we switch on the Christmas lights at 7pm in the square, they will be switched on by Mrs Greenwood Penny a legend in the town, for the past 75 years her family has given the town its Christmas Tree, fund raising helps of course. This will be the last time I am officiating at this event as after 8 years as Chairman I am standing down, I have enjoyed all the years with them but I feel its time to go as I have other irons in my fire which take up a lot of my time.

Bit of an uproar about town this morning as Marazion has applied for city status personally I cant comment.
