Thank you all i feel your concern and i do get around to seeing all your messages for Andy.

It's a bit manic for me at the moment watching him all day so he doesn't fall or bump into things.

Today we had two hospital appointments for eye tests then onto the doc.

She was a lovely lady, she said he was doing well considering all he went through.

The field of vision isn't good but at least he didn't lose all vision.

He won't be able to drive again.

Typical while we were in the Basingstoke hospital for the eye examinations, the mobile rang from Southampton hospital, we missed the call so hopefully they were ringing for his next app to see the specialist to see what happens next, chemo etc.

He feels better being able to sleep now the clips are taken out.

Small steps but we are getting there, life is feeling a bit more normal today.

I can totally understand why the A&E visit was necessary. It's a very scary time after such a big operation and anything different needs to be investigated. Taking each day as it comes, and being thankful for small improvements is the only way to go Sue just so you can keep things as normal as poss.

It will take time Sue but he is over the worse.  Hoping he improves day by day

well we spent all night and morning stuck in a corridor in a and e Wednesday night.Andy lost the feeling in his right arm and hand so off he had to go by ambulances for checks and another scan. Seems ok today, they upped the dose of one of his meds. He’s very sleepy but seems much brighter today. He has the clips out on Monday and another eye test on Tuesday. His vision has been effected quite bad but he’s grateful for small mercies, the fact he didn’t go blind as they had warned us of the possibilities

He seems stronger in his legs today of day 8 post opp.

We all need help to get through lifes problems and sharing lifes difficulties helps to lighten the load.  The hard part is over and each new dawn will bring you both closer to the ultimate goal.

                   What a man he is and what a wife he has in Sue. Reading this gives me so much joy well done to you both. The road ahead will be long and slow vut with love and determination you will reach the end in love and happiness. You are in my thoughts daily love and hugs to you both.

We are honoured to be here for you Sue as you go through this part of yours and Andys journey. I found it comforting when sharing Pauls journey in CCC, everyone who posted were a great help to me and I'm sure you will find that too. 

Humour is paramount for you both, it takes the edge off, so to speak and moves focus from the more serious times. You're doing great Sue, never doubt that!

Day 5 post opp….Andy managed a lap around the garden, I don’t have to hold his hand anymore but he likes me to go in front to guide him as he can’t see me if I stand by his side.

He shuffles along like a 2 yr old but we have to make a joke of it, only time in our marriage where I am faster than he is.

We managed a shower this morning, took a long time but hey ho we got there. Those pressure stockings are so hard to get on and off but needs must. The staples come out next Monday, I counted about 25. 

He’s still feeling tired and woosey but then who wouldn’t with a hole in the head. 

He loves his food and although we don’t get many smiles out of him at the moment I always make a comment on my cooking which he has a little grin about. He’s a great cook. 

Tomorrow is another day, another lap around the garden, a few naps and silly ole me for company. 

I’ve just watered the pots but I forgot to feed the fish…. Oppps off I go again.

Its great that they managed to get the operation done Sue.  The coming days/weeks/months will unravel the rest of the story.  He is now in the best place and am sure his quality of life will slowly improve

Oh deep joy that the op went well, but sorry to read about his sight. I know that you will support Andy in everyway that you can Sue plus you have a loving family to help you as well, sending love and hugs to you all and hoping Andy improves everyday.

Being home will mean a normality to the post-op time. I know you will support in every way you can Sue,, and i hope things will go well for you both... Sending love & Hugs xxx

So glad the Op was able to go ahead Sue. Now Andys recovery is paramount and of course his continuing radio and chemotherapy. A very tiring time for you all as I know so do remember to take good care of yourself too

opp went as well as it could, the Tumor was bigger than when they did the first mri scan.

Surgeons were pretty positive they got most of it but to be safe Andy will have to have chemo and radio so more back and forth to Southampton but that’s a small price to pay.

We were worried that the opp wasn’t going to take place as just b4 he went down he suffered a fit but after a few observations they decided to go ahead. 

We were warned that it could make his vision worse, lose it altogether or maybe it would come back. Unfortunately it stayed the same so he’s still bumping into doors etc, it’s in both eyes in each corner, he’s ok looking straight ahead but it’s the very lower corner vision which has been lost, hence no more driving. I will try and be with him guiding him most of the time. I will have to put a lot of things on hold for a while, like posting playing games on here etc to keep an eye on him.

He’s so independent but I will have to watch him. 

Just off for my shingles jab then will make our way to Southampton to bring Andy home.
