I think as we get older we all have to come to terms with how our body changes.  The main thing is that he can enjoy a good quality of life albeit not quite as anyone would like.

Thank you Sue for keeping us up to date with how Andy is doing with his recovery. What a pity you have to travel so far but i guess that is where the experts are. Keeping you both in my thoughts as you work on this together and Sue, don't forget to take good care of yourself as the carer x

All that travelling to and from the Hospital must be draining for you all Sue but of course it's necessary to get any swelling investigated. It's so good to read that Andy is managing to potter around the garden. Any kind of 'activity' will be so good for his mental well being while he continues his recovery.

Just a quick update. The swelling appears to be back around the wound so need to get that checked. Shame we couldn’t use our own hospital, half hr away apposed to hour and a half away.

Hoping it settles and  is just part of the healing process. He is managing to potter around the garden, using an aid. I still have to watch him. I think he’s coming to terms that the field of vision will not be good again. 

Thank you for all the get well messages, I read them out to him from both groups.
